2014!.. We are coming...

Dear all, please accept our most sincere wishes and congratulations with a coming New Year of 2014!
May what you see in the mirror delight you, and what others see in you delight them. May someone love you enough to forgive your faults,and tell the world about your virtues.
May every day of the New Year be filled with happiness, your heart with love and your daily routines with joy.

Our own Winter Wonderland

We spent Saturday afternoon creating our very own Winter Wonderland by making Gingerbread House from the favorite cook book. We all gathered around the round table by our simple, yet beautiful Christmas Tree, turned on all time favorite Christmas songs and started our magical afternoon.

  It took us around 1.5 hour to mix, bake and cool the gingerbread before assembling the little houses. The actual construction and decorating took around 4 hours. It was the first time we made gingerbread houses so wanted them to be all colorful, full of creamy snow and chocolate paths. As a  a Christmas miracle we hope that these houses will not be eaten before Christmas :)

For us, baking is usually only a need but that afternoon was a pure happiness that created an amazing festive mood in the house.We wish you to find joy in daily tasks and have a cozy and magical season!

Simply Simple Cards

Need an idea on quick and easy Christmas cards? Look no further. Simply simple cards.

1. To make the simply simple cards you will need:
- Blank cards or card paper;
- Any type of fabric material (or coloured paper);
- Some decorative templates (small hats, socks, gloves, candies..);
- Coloured paper for card insert, optional;
- Mini pegs;
- Jute string;
- Pencil, marker, ruler, glue, scissors and paper cutter.

 2. If you do not have blank cards, cut out the card paper to:
            - 21x15cm size. It is your main card;
            - 9.5x14cm size. It is the top of the main card;
            - 9.5x14cm size for the insert, optional.

 3. Fold the main card's paper in half to get a 10.5x15cm size card.

 4. Cut jute string of the length of 18cm, turn it down approx. 3 cm on each end and then glue it on top of the card as shown in the picture.

5. Glue a 9.5x14cm size top paper in the middle of the main card to hide a glued jute string.

6. Glue the insert to the card. Weight it down with a load, for example, books for a quicker bond.

7. Place decorative templates over a fabric, circle it with the marker and then cut it out.

8. Using pegs attach the cut out templates to a string.

9. Simple last minute cards are ready. Happy Christmas!

Templates for Pinhole Cards

Ladies (and an occasional gentleman), below are some of the templates I used to pinhole the cards. Unfortunately, I did not save the links of these templates so uploaded some pictures.

Please ignore a bad quality of pictures, they still serve the purpose. Happy pin holing!
